Movie review of The Exorcist: Believer

Here's what I like and do not like about the Exorcist: Believer on point form.

What I LIKED about The Exorcist: Believer

• The 2 girls, Angela( Lidya Jewett) and Katherine(Olivia O' Neill). Good acting especially Lidya.
• It was nice to see Ellen Burstyn back as Chris O' Neil. She has aged well but sadly it's an utterly useless role and from what I read, she only came back for the money cos they doubled her salary and she used her slary to fund scholarships for actors or some shit.
• It was also nice to see Linda Blair back and there is a high chance she will have a bigger role for the sequel.
• The plot twist at the end. Where the parents had to "choose". I thought that idea was pretty cool.
• Subtle tribute lines from the Exorcist.

What I HATED about The Exorcist: Believer

• The director. Fuck him.
• At one point of time, everyone became a fucking Exorcist. It was like an Exorcists R' Us. What the fuck was going on? Nobody knew.
• It got way too Jesusy. Jesus this, Jesus that. 
• The parents. They deserve to die. Horrible acting.
• The whole going to church to ask for an exorcism scene is a waste of fucking time.
• The idiot priest in the car who comes in later dramatically was just laughable.
• The whole voodoo Jesus thing with the black lady priestess was utter rubbish and useless.
• There is a high chance this is going to be a trilogy even if this movie bombs in the box office.
• Chris O' Neil returning is completely useless.
• The slow build up amounts to nothing and pretty much insults you as the audience towards the end.
• The audio is really soft and you do need to have English subs.
• This movie is now a direct sequel which erases Heretic and Exorcist 3. I still believe Exorcist 3 is really good and a proper sequel. Heretic, Believer and the prequels all can FOAD.

All in all The Exorcist: Believer is a pile of crap and a waste of time. If you really want to watch, watch it on a weekday, if not just wait for the stream. However, I highly suggest you to watch the original, The Exorcist again. Cos nothing can come close to it.

Movie review of Blonde

 Blonde - 2/10

Directed by Andrew Dominik.

What a terribly boring movie. Watching grass grow is far more exciting than watching this 3 hour crap. Watching Blonde is like watching a pirated version of a Terrence Malick movie and fuck Terrence Malick.

Why would you wanna make a movie of Marilyn Monroe but use a fictionalized book? The way the movie was made was terrible. Granted there are a few very nice shots. But its like for every 1 good shot, there will be 5 shit shots. Terrible close ups and some really shit transitions. And what's with the fucking colour? some scenes are colour and some are black and white. Why? If the whole movie is black and white, it would be good.

According to Andrew Dominik, the script contains little dialogue and he has described the film as being an "avalanche of images and events." It's not an avalanche of images and events, its more like a fucking video montage edited by kids. And yes, whatever little script there was, it was fucking terrible. So many cringe worthy lines. Knn, all her husbands, MM calls them, Daddy. It's like porn script lah.

Andrew Dominik had perhaps 2 good movies. Chopper and Killing them softly. This is definitely his worst. I don't think I'm going to follow any of his future movies.

The acting in Blonde is so inconsistent. There are some well known casts in this but all of them were hits and misses. Quite a number of reviews, says Ana De Armas was really good in this. Nope. She was shit as well. She tries very hard to get the Monroe accent but its inconsistent. Every now and then, you get the latino accent. Her make up was terrible as well.

Marilyn Monroe, no matter how troubled she was, she was a decent actress and was an icon. Blonde is just basically exploiting her one more time even though she is dead. I would love to watch a proper biography of her though.

All in all, even if you have 3 hours of your life to spare, don't bother watching Blonde. Watch grass grow instead.
